CRUISE SHIP TO BE CHRISTENED BY HAWAII SENATOR INOUYE
Hawaii Senator Daniel Inouye has been tapped to christen the cruise ship ``Pride of Hawaii'' next month in Los Angeles. Ships are traditionally christened by women.
Norwegian Cruise Lines quotes a spokesman for the Cruise Lines International Association as saying having a man do the honors will be a first in modern cruise history.
Inouye's late wife, Maggie, christened the cruise ship ``Pride of Aloha'' in 2004. She died last month.
The ``Pride of Hawaii'' is the largest and most expensive U-S-flagged passenger ship ever built.
The 93-thousand-500-ton vessel has room for 24-hundred passengers and one-thousand crew members. It's slated to join Norwegian Cruise Lines' interisland fleet June fifth.

CRUISE SHIP PIER REOPENS IN COZUMEL
One of the three piers used by cruise ships on Cozumel, Mexico has reopened six months after being severly damaged by hurricane Wilma. Royal Caribbean International ships have priority at that pier. Since hurricane Wilma, ships have anchored off the coast and transported passengers by tender. The pier used by Carnival is also being repaired and is expected to reopen later this year.
